Makin' Movies
Oct. 24th, 2002 11:02 amOn Monday we were reminded that our treatments for our final projects are due next week. the treatment is basically a short-story version of your movie. What's going to happen, when and where. I haven't even decided what I'm going to do yet. I need to focus on something that I can do near my house with very little cast and crew that I can film mostly indoors or at night. I've had only one idea but it's deeply personal and I'm not sure I could do it well enough to want to do it.
If anyone has any ideas for a short story to be made into a movie, I'd love to hear of it. The finished film is supposed to be between 3 and 7 minutes in run time. Commedy is the easiest way to go because and errors in filming can often be overlooked due to the format. For that reason, I'd like to avoid commedy and do something that will challenge me. I think I can probably pull off some number of special effects reasonably well. Lightning, CGI explosions, lasers, and maybe a little bit of blue screening, btu they'd definetely have to be the icing on the cake and not the meat and potatos. Eee. Anyhow. I'll be brainstorming ideas all weekend. I think I may try making a list of locations and materials I know I have available and using that as a starting point for what type of film I might be able to make.
