Java is worse for me... Flash at least tends to actually work more often. I have to agree with lediva though -- using Flash to display text is kinda pointless.
Recently I did a sweep of 'Add or Remove Software' and found about 10 Java Runtime Environment 'updates' installed each over 100 Mb. I sure hope I don't need all of those -- I deleted all but the last one. I don't know why the installer doesn't do it by itself.
